John Stanford International School

Seattle, WA | Architect: Bassetti Architects | Completion Date:

Quantum principals John Riley and Jim DeSalvo provided structural design for the historic renovation and expansion at Latona Elementary School, now known as John Stanford International School. The original 1906 school building was renovated and seismically strengthened, while a new addition addressed a variety of space needs. The new wing created an additional 36,600 SF of classrooms, plus a multipurpose gymnasium, covered play area, cafeteria, library, offices, kitchen, greenhouse, workrooms, mechanical attic, and a performance stage for a total of over 60,000 SF of learning space. The historic renovation and seismic upgrade was to the original four-level, 23,500 SF wood framed structure. It contains classrooms, flexible areas, storage, workrooms, conference rooms, and offices.

*John and Jim performed this project while with another firm.
