King County Building Upgrades

Jim DeSalvo, John Riley, and Jack Wiggins have provided structural engineering for numerous King County projects, including new design, seismic studies, post-earthquake response, seismic upgrades, miscellaneous repairs and feasibility studies. Their projects include:
• Expansion and seismic upgrade of the Youth Detention Services Center, a five-story, 64,000 SF facility that houses courtrooms and administrative offices, including a new 2,000 SF entryway enclosure with security improvements.
• Renovation of the 1928 King County Airport Terminal, including a seismic upgrade using
FEMA 273 to bring the facility to an Immediate Occupancy level of performance.
• Seismic upgrade to the 17-story King County Correctional Facility using FEMA 273.
• Seismic upgrade of the Administration Building, a 250,000 SF, eight-story steel-framed structure.
• Seismic upgrade options for the King County Courthouse.
• Structural evaluation of the Youth Services Pool Buildings.
• Seismic upgrade of the historic Enumclaw Grandstand.
• Site feasibility study/non-hazard risk assessments for a new Police Communications Facility.
