St. John City Hall & Library

St. John, WA | Architect: Robert Zimmer Architect | Completion Date: 2008

Quantum is providing structural design services for a new city hall and library in St. John, WA. This City Hall building contains library space and is connected to a museum. The complex stands as the symbolic “heart” of St. John.

The interior contains high-ceilings which offer generous reading areas and a variety of spaces separated by function. The building materials include: concrete, cement board and steel wood, giving the building a traditional, warm and scholarly feel.

The City Hall has a large transparent front window and recessed entrance which serves the library as well and acts as the Community’s front porch. The library has a separate entrance with off-street parking provided along the alley.

The City Hall multi-use lounge functions as the common space for all three facilities: the City Hall, the Library, and the Museum, each can operate independently making this a truly versatile structure.
