Another Quantum project was featured in the DJC as a project of the week. The Bellwether apartments is a four-story mixed-use building. This 43,000 square foot building provides affordable housing in Bellingham. The design team worked closely with the Port of Bellingham to design a building that not only provided market rate apartments but also helped the surrounding area’s shoreline and an existing trail. Special thanks to Caron architecture for bringing us on board.
A Quantum Project was not only featured in Seattle Magazine, but also received a Home of Distinction award from AIA. We worked closely with Donnally architects to renovate this two story house boat.
Quantum Consulting Engineers provided structural engineering and seismic design for the Port of Seattle’s $35-million Sea-Tac International Airport Passenger Terminal Seismic Upgrade project. Quantum Consulting Engineers has been a part of the seismic team for almost ten years, working with Berger/ABAM, and architect Arai Jackson Ellison Murakami in finding innovative and cost-effective designs for the seismic upgrades in the passenger terminal, including diagonal steel pipe bracing at the baggage and ticketing levels, beam-to-column connection strengthening, expansion joint closure, base-plate anchorage strengthening, penthouse bracing, bagwell grade beams, and promenade-level sloping glass support replacement.
Quantum Consulting Engineers is providing structural design for an environmental science center at Seahurst Park. The proposed building will house interpretive and educational programs on land and water stewardship for youth and adults. The current plans provide for classrooms, laboratories, and meeting space.
Quantum provided structural design services for this new city hall and library in St. John, WA. This City Hall building contains library space and is connected to a museum. The complex stands as the symbolic “heart” of St. John.
The interior contains high ceilings which offer generous reading areas and a variety of spaces separated by function. The building materials include: concrete, cement board, steel and wood giving the building a traditional, warm and scholarly feel.
